Spotlight search is cluttered with web results and Siri suggestions you never asked for
You hit ⌘+Space to quickly find a local app or file and instead you get a wall of App Store results, Safari suggestions, news, and Siri recommendations mixed in. Finding the actual local thing you wanted is like looking for something in a junk drawer.
Why does this happen?
Apple integrates Siri Suggestions and web results into Spotlight to make it more of a universal search. For power users who use Spotlight primarily to launch apps or find files, these extra results are just noise.
How to fix it
System Settings → Siri & Spotlight → scroll down to Search Results.
Uncheck categories you don't want: Siri Suggestions, Safari Suggestions, App Store, Websites, etc.
Keep Applications, Documents, Folders, and whatever local content you care about.
Spotlight will now return faster, cleaner results focused on what's actually on your Mac.
